Hi, I’m Chanie - Wife, Mother of two, and Director and CEO of the JEL family.
My passion for education stems from ‘Chanoch L’na-ar Al Pi Darko’ - ‘Teach every child according to his way’. And with that in mind, my goal with JEL is to bring Judaism alive in a most fun and positive way, to the hundreds of Jewish children who are looking for a fresh alternative to the conventional Hebrew School experience. I believe that it is every Jewish child's birthright to receive a solid Jewish educational foundation, regardless of background or affiliation and I’m excited to continue living this belief while I welcome you to the JEL family!
Miriam Burston
Associate Educator, Teacher
Miriam hails from California, is a super creative teacher, and has been teaching in Hebrew Schools for years! She takes all that she knows, builds on it, and brings detailed, creative, innovative and exciting lessons to our JEL students. She is a great listener, personable, passionate and fun - both in the classroom and in her personal life! Miriam has a unique ability to keep an environment fun and relaxed without compromising the lesson at hand. Her care for each student is apparent and she looks forward to meeting with them each week!
